The seed of music has been planted at a pretty early stage of my life. I remember playing the electric organ as a child with my mom and soon my afternoons were spent at that organ trying to play along the songs I liked or in front of my dad's stereo system, listening to music and making mix tapes. In 1990 I took my first piano lessons at school with my awesome teacher Rudi. He taught me the basics and how to play some first songs. In 1991 I got my first piano and it was the happiest day ever. Since then, I've never stopped playing and although I added some other instruments, it is still my favorite thing to play.
Eight years later a dream came true and I joined a band named Alsion as a keyboarder. It was my first time to play with other people and I quickly started to feel comfortable on stages. I also discovered my songwriting skills and that I loved singing. The two years with the band were an amazing time and taught me so much about music - I'm truly thankful for this experience and I'm still in touch with some of the guys who have become real friends.
Two years later I left the band because I had to move and I started the project e-motions. I took all the songs I had written back during the times with the band that hadn't been used in our lineup and I continued writing and producing my very own music. First gigs happened and I worked hard to finally be able to put together my first solo album which took 6 years.
In 2007 I had finally all the material to release an album and I named it CHANGE because it combined songs from before I started e-motions and the new ones I had written after. The whole producing thing was new to me and I had to learn a lot, spend nights after nights in my homestudio and go through tough times finding the perseverance to keep going and to realize my dream of putting out my own album - independently.
Between 2007 and 2012 I had released three more albums and I was at a musical rampage always composing and writing new songs and having a ton of ideas. My album SONGWRITING WEEK which came out that year was the climax of this period. I wrote 7 of the 8 songs on the album in only one week: 7 days of intense writing, composing, producing and coming up with different sounds and styles. It was exhausting and I was literally empty at the end of the week. But the result was so good that I decided to put it on an album.
I've always dreamed of the big stage and in 2013 I had finally given the opportunity to perform on one when Elvin Dandel - my former vocal coach - asked me to perform at the Hermannstadt Rock Festival in Sibiu/Romania. I was thrilled and excited and overwhelmed. When he told me that they were expecting 30.000 people to watch the show, I almost passed out. The show was beyond what I could imagine and I am truly grateful for that chance.
A second gig in Munich followed quickly and I had the honor to perform with Ricky and Elvin Dandel at the Blackbox in Munich again. It was a magical night and I hope, I will get this chance again sometime in the future. The same year, I planned on releasing my album I WANT IT ALL and I put together a show just for my friends - to present the album before it was released. It was a very intimate acoustic show at the beautiful Steinway House in Munich and thanks to Saúl at the piano, Sascha at the guitar and my wonderful guests Vittoria and Martina, the show was very emotional.
2015 has been a quiet year when it comes to music. I felt the need to take a break and to work on other stuff. But I am sure, 2016 will be a good year and I have already plans for new music and gigs. There's some amazing stuff coming up.
